I read Yuval Noah Harari’s book Sapiens a while back. In one chapter it talked about happiness and how researchers have been (unsuccessfully) trying to quantify it for decades to create a credible measurement scale. The problem is that happiness depends on an individual’s perspective of it. It’s different for everyone. In my opinion, happiness is easily achievable if you readjust and simplify your expectations in life. For me, happiness would mean having a job which I enjoy and am passionate about. I believe that good things will follow from that.
